Digital Nomad Visa: why applying from inside Spain can matter
Spain’s Digital Nomad Visa lets remote workers live in the country. One detail is easy to miss and makes a real difference: where you file the application.
Two routes
You can apply at a Spanish consulate in your home country, or — if you are in Spain legally — file from inside Spain.
Why it matters
Filed from Spain, the authorisation generally runs three years. Filed at a consulate abroad, it is usually one.
Who can file from Spain
Anyone in Spain on a tourist visa can file from here. Citizens of some countries, such as the US, Canada and the UK, can also enter Spain visa‑free for 90 days, and during those days they can file the application from here.
What it takes
The application lives or dies on its documentation. In practice that means reviewing what you have, preparing what is missing, and submitting a complete file — then following it through each stage.
How we help
Documentation review, preparation, application coordination and guidance at each stage — remotely, anywhere in Spain. Where legal representation is required, we refer you to trusted licensed professionals and say so upfront.
